Gokulam Kerala FC Technical Director Bino George believes he could bring back the glory of Kerala Football in Santosh Trophy as he takes over as the head coach of the Santosh Trophy team for the South Zone Qualifiers to be held in Kerala.
“Kerala may host the qualifiers and final round of Santosh Trophy this year and I think by setting up a team early we could prepare for the tournament,” said Bino George.
The AFC Pro-licence coach believes there are still several unearthed talents in the State and his aim is bring up more players. Recently Arjun Jayaraj, who left Gokulam Kerala FC, had thanked the coach for his mentorship during Arjun’s years as a footballer.
“The state enjoys a very good academy structure. There are several academies from the sub-junior level. So there is no dearth of players but we need to unearth them and groom into better players,” he said.
Bino Coach has been in Kochi during the senior inter-district football tournament and believes that he would be able to muster a strong squad for the upcoming Santhosh Trophy football tournament.
“I thank Gokulam Kerala FC president VC Praveen for allowing me to take up the Santosh Trophy duty. The club is keen into youth development and believes in Kerala players talent,” added Bino.
